Q: What crops are covered under the GRDC's portfolio?

A: The GRDC's research portfolio covers 25 leviable crops spanning temperate and tropical cereals, oilseeds and pulses. Specific leviable commodities include wheat, barley, oats, sorghum, maize, triticale, millets/panicums, cereal rye, canary seed, lupins, field peas, chickpeas, faba beans, vetch, peanuts, mung beans, navy beans, pigeon peas, cowpeas, lentils, canola, sunflower, soybean, safflower, linseed.

GRDC also conducts work in pastures within the Research, Development and Extension portfolio.

 

Q: How can I apply for funding from GRDC?

A: The GRDC has a range of opportunities for individuals, groups and organisations wishing to apply for funding. Some of these methods include the GRDC Investment Plan, Tenders, eConcepts, Awards and Scholarships. More information about each of these processes can be found in the 'Applying/Reporting' section of this website.

  

Q: How does the GRDC recognise variations in local conditions?

A: The GRDC recognises variations in local conditions and provides for Regional Advisory Panels covering the Northern, Southern and Western graingrowing regions of Australia. The three regions correspond with the major three graingrowing areas of Australia.

The industry's three regions reflect market and production realities. Each has distinctive features which warrant focused planning and research management in plant breeding, farming systems, soil, grain storage and handling, product development, market opportunities, and technology marketing. The regions also bridge State borders to ensure regional access to multiple research providers and outcomes.

Q: How do I search for information on the GRDC website?

A: There are several ways in which to search for information on the GRDC website, as follows:

  • Input keywords into the Search textbox (located at the top right of the website) and click on the 'Search' button to the right 
  • Select a menu item from the top of the screen and navigate categories within each menu
  • Use the research and development menu and filter system (more information on this option is available in the site help section of the website) 

 

Q: Does the GRDC have a vacancies page?

A: Yes. The GRDC advertises vacancies both on the GRDC website and through national and regional press. To find out on present vacancies within the GRDC, visit the the current vacancies page located in the 'About Us' menu.
