(From left) GRDC Southern Panel deputy chair Chris Blanchard (Wagga Wagga, New South Wales) and Southern Panel member Susan Findlay Tickner (Horsham, Victoria) met with Associate Professor Li Day, principal research scientist and group leader in food structure and chemistry with CSIRO’s Animal, Food and Health Sciences division at Werribee, Victoria, during the Southern Panel’s spring tour.
Associate Professor Day showed the GRDC panel members food characterisation testing equipment used in research. The GRDC is a non-commercial partner of the FGC. GRDC panel members and staff met with growers, researchers, consultants and advisers across the country in September and October to discuss the most pressing issues facing the grains industry as part of annual spring panel tours in the southern, western and northern grain-growing regions.
