The MBIBTC involves representatives from all the major malting and brewing companies in Australia. The committee's brief is to maintain the supply of high-quality, high-yielding Australian malting varieties.
The work is done in liaison with various sectors of the barley industry and by testing and rating new malting varieties. The committee also evaluates new pesticides for use on malting barley.
