Education boost under way

Andrew Inglis

The GRDC has boosted its investment in training and education to more than $3.5 million a year, up by about $500,000 on 1998-99 levels.

Chairman Andrew Inglis said a Grains Education Program (GEP) would be established to take over responsibility for current training awards and through the GEP, there would be continued support for the Australian Rural Leadership Program, the GRDC's Research Horizon Course, and annual GRDC-Nuffield scholarships.

He said a Program Consultant would be appointed to manage the GEP, other initiatives including a national forum on grains industry training and education, and the establishment of a Grains Education Advisory Group.
