WOMEN involved in graingrowing in northern NSW know more about wheat quality now, thanks to BRI Australia Ltd 'Quality wheat for quality foods' workshops. In Moree earlier this year, the workshop was the fifth event organised by the Moree Women's Field Day Committee to meet a perceived thirst by women for greater knowledge and understanding of major grains industry issues. While they were up that way, BRI Australia scientists Ken Quail and Michael Southan held similar workshops for wider industry audiences in Croppa Creek, Wallumbilla and Condamine. Moree NSW Agriculture extension agronomist Jennie Spenceley said women new to the grains industry, as well those responsible each year for coordinating the logistics of grain sales at harvest, expressed their appreciation of the workshops.
