THE DEADLINE for applications for grains industry travel awards is 29 March 2002. These awards, made available by the Grains Research and Development Corporation, are open to growers, advisers and processors not engaged in full-time research in the industry.
They enable individuals and growers to travel and study particular aspects of the industry, either in Australia or overseas. Past awards, for example, have gone to those wanting to study the lentil industry in North America and food consumption trends in Asia, while a group ofWA farmers recently investigated Mallee soil farming techniques in the eastern states.
Application forms and details can be found on www.grdc.com.au/researchers/forms.htm or contact Mrs Katie Poidomani 02 6272 5525.
