Soil management and sustainability will come under global scrutiny at the 16th Triennial Conference of the International Soil Tillage Research Organisation (ISTRO) at the University of Queensland, 13-18 July. Supported by growers and the Federal Government through the GRDC, the conference will bring together hundreds of researchers and practitioners to discuss the latest research and development affecting the physical processes of soil management and their impact on soil cropping systems and the environment. ISTRO president Dr Jeff Tullberg, from UQ's Gatton campus, says the conference will be a stimulating forum for soil scientists, engineers, agronomists and environmentalists to engage in debate On the vital issues of applied soil management. A mid-conference field day will provide an opportunity for interaction between conference delegates and leading farmers.
