Victorian grower Nicola Bussell (of "carboor'. Wangaratta) adds a minute amount of a solution that will chemically cut DNA from cells. Ms Bussell said she'd enjoyed a recent hand-on workshop, sponsored by Agrifood Awareness Australia, the GRDC and CSIRO, designed for growers to get acquianted with gene technology at close quarters.

"We are going to be gaced with decisions about growing GM crops. It will be good to be able to make decisions based on information that we've researched and collected rather than on gut reaction, emotion, or something else," says Ms Bussell.
