On farm decisions such as variety selection and crop management can make all the difference to grain quality, so for growers, understanding this and which grade or food product their grain can be used for can boost profitability and efficiencies.
Wagga Wagga based agronomists, advisers, consultants and growers are invited to a Grains Research and Development (GRDC) funded one-day workshop which will focus on these areas and related topics.
A great range of speakers include Professor Chris Blanchard of Charles Sturt University, Don Plowman of Wheat Quality Australia, Peter Botta of PBC consulting and Chris Williams of the National Residue Survey Plant Program, with more to be announced.
Speakers will cover the link between grain storage, grain quality and food safety as well as explore the concept of functional grains and what they mean for growing and marketing quality food products.
The workshop venue and meeting time is:
Wagga Wagga, Wagga Convention Centre CSU, Wednesday October 19, 8:15am - 5:30pm. Cost is $88.
