Neville Brady from Bunch Consulting will outline the four key areas for improved business performance at the GRDC Farm Business Update at Naracoorte.

Farm health and safety, increasing connectivity, reducing risk and improving business performance – these will be among the topics on the agenda at a Grains Research and Development (GRDC) Farm Business Update in Naracoorte next month.

GRDC Southern Regional Panel member Bill Long of Ardrossan says the Farm Business Update on April 12 will be of enormous value to growers from throughout the South-East.

“The Farm Business Updates – an initiative of the GRDC Southern Regional Panel – are designed to help growers improve their knowledge and understanding of the business issues associated with farming enterprises,” Mr Long said.

“The event at Naracoorte will be a great opportunity to learn more about how we can make improvements in the business side of farming for greater efficiencies and profitability.”

The Update program will begin with Danny Lynch from Eastman Lynch looking into the health and safety aspects of farming and how to identify and manage key areas of risk within the farm enterprise.

Ian Ware from APA Sound will outline the benefits of increasing connectivity on the farm, including practical advice on how to boost phone and internet connectivity and the implementation of networking systems.

Tools to reduce risk associated with growing grain will be the topic of a presentation by ORM’s David Smith who will delve into multi-peril crop insurance.

Neville Brady from Bunch Consulting will outline the four key areas for improved business performance and offer tips and tools for building personal resilience and identifying when others may need support.

To be held at the Naracoorte Town Hall, the Farm Business Update will begin at 9am and will conclude at 1pm with lunch.
