Fact sheet offers advice on spray height control

Author: Natalie Lee

A new fact sheet from the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) offers Western Australian growers practical advice on the accurate use of auto boom height control systems, which can improve evenness of the spray deposit and reduce spray drift.

The GRDC Spray Height Control Fact Sheet provides useful information about the types of auto boom height systems available; the importance of maintaining optimum height; set up considerations and calibration requirements.

When adjusted correctly to optimum height, auto boom height control systems can allow the operator to focus on monitoring other machine functions, which improves spray accuracy and reduces operator fatigue.

When functioning correctly, auto boom height control systems can also assist in preventing ground strikes and damage to the boom, nozzles and spray components.

The fact sheet can be downloaded from www.grdc.com.au/GRDC-FS-SprayHeightControl.
