Senate Order: Entity contracts over $100,000

2016-17 SENATE ORDER FOR ENTITY CONTRACTS LISTING RELATING TO THE PERIOD 1 July 2016 – 30 June 201. Pursuant to the Senate Order for entity contracts the following table sets out contracts entered into by the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) which provide for a consideration to the value of $100,000 or more (GST inclusive) and which:

a. have not been fully performed as at 30 June 2017, or

b. which have been entered into during the 12 months prior to 30 June 2017.

Most of the contracts listed contain confidentiality provisions of a general nature that are designed to protect the confidential information of the parties that may be obtained or generated in carrying out the contract.

The reasons for including such clauses include:

a. ordinary commercial prudence that requires protection of trade secrets, proprietary information and the like; and/or

b. protection of other Commonwealth material and personal information.

The accountable authority of the Grains Research and Development Corporation is not able to provide an assurance that each of the listed contracts do not contain any inappropriate confidentiality provisions. The reason is that at the time of entering into the listed contracts, the Grains Research and Development Corporation was not required to comply with the Senate Order for Entity Contracts and the confidentiality provisions included in the GRDC’s listed contracts were considered to be appropriate having regard to all the circumstance.

The estimated cost of complying with the Senate Order is $2,500 and is calculated based on time taken by hourly rate.
