Early and effective summer weed control workshop - Corrigin

Event Name
Early and effective summer weed control workshop - Corrigin
End Date
5 hours and 15 minutes

Summer weeds can rob subsequent crops of soil nitrogen and stored soil water. Summer weeds can also delay seeding time for winter crops through reducing stored soil water forcing growers to wait till sufficient autumn rain has fallen. They can also reduce crop emergence by causing physical and/or chemical interference at seeding time.

Early weed identification and control is essential for best control under difficult summer conditions.

Topics covered:

  • economics of early summer weed control
  • weed identification with special reference to locally important weeds – a mix of theory and practical. Live plants will be available for attendees to practise identification of small plants.
