GRDC Grower Forum – Melrose

Come along and contribute your suggestions for future GRDC investments in research, development, and extension at this free Grower Forum.

The GRDC Grower Forums will gather grass roots input into GRDC’s investment plans by capturing opportunities and constraints facing local growers. You will also have and give you the opportunity to talk to GRDC representatives and researchers working on GRDC projects.

The forum will be led by GRDC Grower Relations Managers Randall Wilksch and Tom Blake, who will provide insights into current research and extension projects.

A facilitated workshop session will identify factors impacting farm productivity and profitability and review opportunities for local GRDC research, development, and extension support.

The forum guest speaker will be Principal Research Scientist Dr Therese McBeath of the CSIRO Agriculture and Food Systems Program at Waite Campus.

Dr McBeath will give an overview of two GRDC research projects on increasing production on sandy soils in low and medium rainfall areas of the southern region and understanding constraints to crop profits on highly calcareous soils.

THIS GRDC GROWER FORUM WILL:

• Gather input into GRDC’s investment plans by capturing opportunities and constraints facing growers in your region. providing an insight into symptoms and management. This will include a facilitated workshop.
• Provide updates into current research and extension projects with local relevance.
• Feature a presentation on the latest from GRDC projects on sandy soils and calcareous soils by Principal Research Scientist Dr Therese McBeath of the CSIRO Agriculture and Food Systems Program at Waite Campus.
• Provide an opportunity for you to talk to the GRDC representatives and researchers working on GRDC projects.
