GRDC Grower Forum – Parndana
The forum will gather grass roots input into local GRDC investments and give you the opportunity to talk to GRDC representatives and researchers working on GRDC projects.
The forum is free of charge and will be led by GRDC Grower Relations Managers Randall Wilksch and Tom Blake, who will provide insights into current research and extension projects.
A facilitated workshop will identify factors impacting farm productivity and profitability and review opportunities for local GRDC research, development and extension.
The forum will feature three guest speakers, who will present on topics of specific relevance to grain growers on Kangaroo Island:
- Dr Sean Mason, Agronomy Solutions - soil and plant testing for profitable fertiliser use, soil nutrient variability, and optimising N and P applications across zones
- Dr Fran Brailsford, Murdoch University (joining by Zoom) - water and nutrient interactions in ironstone gravel soils and future work to improve their productivity
- Dr Chris Preston, University of Adelaide - options for radish control in the high rainfall zone and management of herbicide-resistant weeds.
All growers, advisers and industry representatives are welcome. Note that registration is essential to ensure a COVID-safe event.
Please bring your laptop or tablet for use during the workshop session. Devices will also be provided.
