Australian Farm Institute Roundtable – Where to next for ag advocacy?
AFI Roundtable: Where to next for ag advocacy?
Advocacy is an important industry function that ensures the interests of industry participants are promoted to decision makers and the community. In recent years, the environment that advocacy takes place in has changed almost beyond recognition compared to the environment that existed when most agricultural advocacy organisations were established. Social media, citizen activist groups, shrinking resources, and loss of membership are all challenges to the traditional advocacy model.
The 2021 Australian Farm Institute Roundtable will ask the question ‘Where to next for ag advocacy’?
Is ag advocacy fit for purpose to pursue the $100 billion by 2030 target? If not, how should it change in order to achieve effective advocacy outcomes?
Join us in Canberra for the discussion and hear from advocacy groups from agriculture and other industries about what successful advocacy looks like. We will also hear from the consumers of advocacy to understand what effective advocacy delivers. This is a conference not to be missed for anyone who has an interest in how agriculture is promoted and defended.
