Herbicide Discovery and Development 2020

Event Name
Herbicide Discovery and Development 2020
End Date
Duration
1 day, 23 hours and 30 minutes
Description

The recent dramatic increase in the number of weeds exhibiting resistance to at least one herbicide mode of action has coincided with the decreasing rate at which new herbicides have been brought to market since a golden era in the mid-20th century. As of March 2019, 255 species of weeds have exhibited herbicide resistance to at least one mode of action. Globally farmers are feeling the impact of herbicide resistance through increased crop yield losses that can rise to above 34% and through increasing weed control costs. Consequently, there is a great need for the development of new herbicides. HDD2020 will showcase new findings from both industry and academia in the field of herbicide discovery and development from around the world and with the aim of fostering new public-private partnerships to address the need for new herbicides.

The HDD2020 Conference in Perth will be an event ideal for students and early career researchers to meet industry and academics interested in herbicides. Exceptional national and international delegates from industry and academia have been invited to present their research and attend the conference. HDD2020 will have a strong emphasis on interactions among delegates and plenty of opportunities will be provided for researchers to discuss their research during poster sessions and catering breaks. Such networking events will also allow HDD2020 exhibitors direct access to the HDD2020 attendees, many of whom are leaders in their field.
