Optimising High Rainfall Zone Cropping in the Southern Region (Lake Bolac Workshop)

Event Name
Optimising High Rainfall Zone Cropping in the Southern Region (Lake Bolac Workshop)
End Date
Duration
3 hours and 30 minutes
Description

With representatives from FAR Australia, DPIRD, CSIRO and Agriculture Victoria presenting on current projects in the high rainfall zones of Australia, these workshops aim to ensure that our understanding of the threats and opportunities match the on-ground perceptions of growers and advisors. What are you advocating in the HRZ environments? What are your most common rotations and pressing issues amenable to farming systems research? With your help, our aim is to develop a series of priorities that this project should address to reduce the yield gap in Southern HRZ areas.

These workshops will consider R&D needs in relation to soils and nutrition, germplasm, disease management and general agronomy and ask for your opinions on Ag Tech (software, hardware and diagnostics) that could conceivably make an impact on crop management and productivity. This will help us to define opportunities, risks and logistical issues that are relevant to increasing crop yields and the profitability of farming systems in the HRZ.
