Join weed webinars for updated advice

With harvest drawing to a close for some, or for others being held up by wet weather, growers in the northern cropping belt are now turning their attention to weed management in a bid to preserve precious soil moisture.
Effective weed management strategies are critical to maximizing planting opportunities in upcoming seasons and avoiding the costly development of herbicide resistance on farms.
Growers will have an opportunity to discuss the latest weed management advice during a series of Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) webinars, Advances in Weed Management, during November and December.
These short, informative 30 minute presentations from industry experts in their field allow growers and agronomists to upskill on a particular weed management topic from the tractor or the office on tablet, laptop or desktop.
Webinar one in this series will address maximising the performance of paraquat based herbicides in northern fallow, while the second webinar will discuss the ecology, resistance update and management of sowthistle.
Webinar one presenters will be Independent Consultants Australia Network (ICAN) consultant Mark Congreve who will be joined by Syngenta’s Shaun Hood for a discussion on this topic. Mr Hood is the Solutions Development Leader for Syngenta in the northern grains region, and will share his experiences with regard to development and stewardship of this important herbicide group.
Webinar Two will draw on the experiences of Michael Widderick and Annie van der Meulen from the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Queensland (DAF) who have led the weeds research team studying the ecology, evolution of resistance and management of sowthistle in the northern grains region.
Webinars are free of charge however participants will be required to pre-register to receive a link to the webinar software.
Join Webinar 1 on Friday 27th November to hear about maximising the performance of paraquat based herbicides in northern fallow. The second webinar on Friday 4th December will host the discussion around ecology, resistance update and management of sowthistle. Both webinars commence 8am Queensland / 9am NSW time.
