Growers attending this year’s Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) Grains Research Update at Barellan will hear from leading researchers on topics relating to local issues.
The GRDC Updates provide growers and advisors with a unique opportunity to interact with these leading industry professionals and learn how GRDC-funded research programs are helping tackle some of the north’s most pressing production challenges.
Topics at the Barellan one day Update will include stubble management for effective farming systems, getting on top of feathertop Rhodes grass, growing lentils and legumes as well as a range of regional agronomic research trials focusing on Variety Specific Agronomy Packages.
GRDC manager grower services, north Sharon O’Keeffe said the GRDC Updates are effectively a three-way conversation between northern growers, advisors and researchers.
“Growers and advisors gain an insight into the scope, progress and results of some of the GRDC’s major research investments while for research partners, the Updates provide an invaluable touch-point with industry which ensures the research work remains practical, meaningful and well-targeted, she said.”
The Update will be held at Barellan on March 17.
Event details are available on the GRDC website.
