Auto boom spray height advice
Author: Sharon Watt | Date: 26 Jun 2013
Grain growers in the southern cropping region are being offered practical advice on the correct use of auto boom spray height control systems.
The Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) has developed a Spray Height Control Fact Sheet which provides useful information on the types of auto height boom systems available, the importance of maintaining optimum height, set up considerations and calibration requirements.
The Fact Sheet states that when properly adjusted, auto boom height control systems can allow the operator to focus on monitoring other machine functions, which improves spray accuracy and reduces operator fatigue.
When correctly functioning, auto boom height control systems can also assist in preventing damage to the boom, nozzles and spray components by preventing ground strikes.
The Fact Sheet is available for viewing and downloading via www.grdc.com.au/GRDC-FS-SprayHeightControl.
