A forum at Quambatook next month will help inform local grain growers’ farm business decision-making in 2017.
The Grains Research and Development (GRDC) Farm Business Update at the Quambatook Golf Club on March 9 will support growers looking to establish the most profitable enterprise mix and make the most from their earnings this financial year.
GRDC Southern Regional Panel member Rob Sonogan, of Swan Hill, says the Farm Business Update on March 9 will be of enormous value to growers and their advisers from throughout the region.
“When it comes to building long-term profitability, having a good understanding of the business fundamentals that drive farming enterprises is incredibly important for our grain growers,” Mr Sonogan says.
“That is why the GRDC Southern Panel initiated the Farm Business Updates – to support growers in improving their businesses by offering them the opportunity to learn from leading industry professionals,” Mr Sonogan said.
Rob Brown of Peppin Financial in Deniliquin will be among the experts presenting at Quambatook. He will detail the top 10 options available to growers to ensure the best use and return from any profit earnings in the 2016-17 financial year.
Tim McClelland of Model Agronomics will be joined by Brad Bennett of AGRIvision Consultants in discussing the most profitable enterprise mix choices suitable for local growers in 2017, while David Smith of ORM and Dale Poyner of Wimmera Mallee Accounting will look at the characteristics of the region’s top performing farms to determine what underpins their success.
Ken Solly, of Solly Business Services in Naracoorte (South Australia), will offer his insights on how to get started in farming and how to make a rewarding career out of it.
Partnered by BCG, the GRDC Farm Business Update will be at the Quambatook Golf Club from 9am to 1pm, followed by lunch. For a detailed program and to register for the event please visit the GRDC Update Dates page or phone ORM on 03 5441 6176 or email email@example.com.
