Date saver: Hagley hyper yielding cereals field day
Author: Sharon Watt | Date: 05 Jul 2018
The Grains Research and Development Corporation’s “Hyper Yielding Cereals Project” will be the focus of a field day at Hagley on November 15.
The field day, from 10am to 4pm, will showcase the project’s research site of some 850 experimental plots dedicated to improving the ability of the State’s farmers to grow high quality feed wheat and barley and thereby reduce Tasmania’s reliance on supplies from the mainland.
The five-year Hyper Yielding Cereals Project has already set new benchmarks for the yield performance of feed wheats in Tasmania.
A GRDC investment, the project is being led by FAR (Foundation for Arable Research) Australia in collaboration with Southern Farming Systems (SFS).
More details about the field day will be released over the coming months.
