Research for growers going places
Author: Kaaren Latham | Date: 23 Dec 2013
Growers can make the most of time spent sitting in farm machinery by catching up on the latest in research, development and extension (RD&E) relevant to Western Australia.
The 2013 Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) western region Driving Agronomy audio compact disc includes 14 interviews by presenter Chris Brown with key GRDC staff and cropping experts.
GRDC western region grower services manager Darren Hughes discusses how the GRDC is addressing top western region RD&E priorities including frost, weeds, non-wetting soils, soil pH and compaction and water use efficiency (WUE).
Other interviews feature detailed discussion about topics including non-wetting soil strategies; WeedSmart; wild radish control; ryegrass control; herbicide testing; and grain storage.
The disc is included in the November-December edition of GRDC’s Ground Cover magazine.
If you don’t have time to read Ground Cover you can download an audio presentation of the magazine.
Ground Cover Radio is now available through iTunes by searching for GRDC or go to www.grdc.com.au/podcasts if you have another platform.
