Project Summary

Rural Directions Pty Ltd

The project had both a research and extension angle, aimed at improving rhizoctonia management..
A trial was designed to test preventative and curative rhizoctonia management strategies, in order to find those with the greatest economic response in currnet farming systems.  The trial was a focus for a field day, but did not yield any results as was affected by sheep prior to harvest.

The extension angle to the project involved a succesful field day wtih more than 45 growers at the trial site to raise awareness and interest in rhizoctonia.  This was followed by a series of disease management sessions in June 2011 to discuss management strategies for disease risks in the coming season.
