Australasian Milling Conference
The domestic Flour Milling and Stockfeed Manufacturing industries are vital components of the grains industry value chain as users of approximately 15 million tonnes of the cereal grains and pulses annually. Grain use in the domestic market continues to grow and provides a valuable outlet for Australian grains. The conference attracts all the major feed and milling grain users as well as grain accumulators and marketers. In addition the conference is attended by significant Asian flour, feed and poultry industry companies that are utilising Australian grains. Company representatives from overseas companies at the 2012 conference included Tegel Foods New Zealand, Viterra New Zealand, Weston Milling New Zealand, Inghams New Zealand, Tablebirds Papua New Guinea, Golden Foods Thailand, Pacific Feeds Fiji, Allied Fiji,Jatinom Indah Farm Industries & Poultry Indonesia, . A major benefit to the grains industry is the across chain linkages which GRDC cultivates especially the supply/demand information flow as it impacts on research and communication. This is vital to enabling sustainable supply to meet specific demand.
