Published: 20 Jun 2019
This publication was produced through the Tactical break crop agronomy project, of the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD), formerly Department of Agriculture and Food, Western Australia (DAFWA). The project is a joint investment of DPIRD and the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC).
Yield and oil data were generated from the GRDC National Variety Trials (NVT) scheme, and accessed from NVT online and from Neale Sutton at NVT.
The canola NVT yield data analysis was done by and according to: Tolhurst, DJ, Mathews, K, Smith, AB & Cullis, BR (2018) Pseudo-replication in canola herbicide trials, in prep.
The canola NVT oil data analysis was done by Andrew van Burgel, DPIRD.
Blackleg data was reproduced from the GRDC Fact Sheet, Spring Blackleg Management Guide, and additional information for new varieties provided by Steve Marcroft (Marcroft Pathology).
Variety maturity, height and information in the relevant ‘new varieties’ section was provided from the company fact sheets/technical notes or directly from company representatives.
CBH Group provided data relating to the area of Western Australian canola varieties.
