United States Department of Agriculture researchers have found a tiny bug which eats insect pests of stored grain 10 to 50 times its own size. Known as the larger pirate bug, the little predator eats almost all types of insect pests but not the grain. Researchers hope they can use the bug to reduce pests in grain.
(They may never make it past Australian quarantine , but it's nice to know they're out there.— Ed )
