Conservation farming conference: Keeping our Land Vibrant
GroundCover™ Issue: 24
The second Australian Conservation Farming Conference and Tour is scheduled for next February with an information-packed week of activities.
"Keeping our land vibrant" is the theme. The conference, to be held in Toowomba, is hosted by Conservation Farmers Inc. based on the Darling Downs and the Moree Conservation Farmers Association, both members of the newly formed national Australian Sustainable Farming Association. The conference is also sponsored by farmers through the GRDC.
The program includes a regional field trip, a two-day sit-down conference and a tour through the border region of southern Queensland and northern NSW.
Speakers from Australia and overseas will present the latest on profitable and sustainable farming systems, minimum tillage, land degradation, improving yield, soil health, savings in labour and machinery costs, climate forecasting, weed management and much more.
Conference dates: 15-19 February 1999
