WA gets knowledge boost
GROWERS and the Federal Government through the GRDC are funding a new chair in agronomy and a lecturing position in technology transfer at the University ofWA. The move recognises the need for more WA-trained agronomists.
The half-million dollar investment spread over five years acknowledges the importance of good agronomic advice. An estimated two-thirds of annual productivity growth for WA graingrowers is attributed to the adoption of better agronomic systems and techniques.
