Feed Grain Growth

Strong growth in the Australian feed grains industry is expected to be underpinned by consumption of chicken meat growing faster than other meats; opening of pork markets for Australian pig producers in Southeast Asia; and growth in the use of grains in the dairy industry. Projections of regional supply and demand for feed grains, including wheat, barley, oats, sorghum and triticale, were detailed in the latest analysis of the feed grains industry published by the Australian Bureau of Agricultural and Resource Economics with the support of the GRDC.
