Managing sorghum injury when using metolachlor herbicides

Video Published: 16/02/2016

Webinar held Tuesday 16th February, 2016

Grass weeds are rapidly adapting to zero till farming systems and are a major challenge to growing sorghum, especially as there are no effective in-crop herbicide options for selective grass weed control.

Metolachlor based herbicides (e.g. Dual Gold®) are frequently the main pillar of pre-emergent weed control strategies targeted at grass weeds in sorghum. Under certain circumstances, crop injury can occur despite the use of a herbicide safener on the sorghum seed. This webinar discusses the factors that influence crop injury, best use of Concep® II safener and how growers and agronomists can best manage risk.
