Understanding crop development and yield responses to mitigate high soil strength in Australian soils.
Title: Understanding crop development and yield responses to mitigate high soil strength in Australian soils
This project aims to improve our understanding of the impact of high soil strength and compaction on the growth, development, and yield of key crops in Australia, including wheat, canola, barley, oats, and narrow leaf lupin.
Outcomes:
1. Improved understanding of the impact of high soil strength and compaction on crop growth, development, and yield.
2. Development of crop-specific metrics to quantify the effects of high soil strength and compaction.
3. Identification of new resources and strategies for growers to maximise their return on investment through crop choice and amelioration management.
