Region: North
Summary
The program from the February/March 2022 GRDC Grains Research Updates has moved online. While we and many participants lament not being able to run these events face to face, this is a fantastic opportunity for you to cherry pick topics of interest to you not only from your area, but from the broader northern region.
Topics for this webinar:
- How do wheat varieties compare for heat tolerance? (Richard Trethowan, University of Sydney)
- Cereal breeding frontiers - awnless wheats, heat and drought risk with grazing/hay wheats, 100-day wheats for late sowing - can we breed another H45? Advances with long coleoptile wheats for deep sowing. (Greg Rebetzke, CSIRO)
- Satellite imagery, smart phones and drones to classify crops, interpret and predict seasonal growth patterns for on farm decision making and support variety selection. (Scott Chapman & Andries Potgieter, UQ)
