NGN Agronomic practices to maximise Peanut kernel quality and yield.
Growers, industry representatives and researchers have identified an opportunity to support the continued development of best management strategies targeted at increasing the production of high-quality grade peanut kernels to meet the growing market demand for this high value legume commodity.
Research trials will be conducted to better understand how peanut varieties with different peanut plant architecture types and population densities impact on the critical yield formation growth stages of flowering and pegging in peanuts.
The key messages developed from this investment will be extended to growers through planned extension activities and resources targeted to support grower decision making relating to planting rate, and their impact on peanut kernel quality and yield to increase the profitability of peanut production.
