Chickpea Breeding Australia 2020-2025
Chickpea Breeding Australia (CBA) is a 5-year collaboration between the NSW Government and the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) based at NSW Department of Primary Industries' Tamworth Agricultural Institute.
This project will invest $30 million over 5 years to develop new desi and kabuli chickpea varieties for traditional and new growing regions across Australia. This includes $10 million in new infrastructure and technologies which includes a new glasshouse, polyhouses, and seed storage and processing facilities at Tamworth.
