Growers in the Geraldton port zone are unsure of how to manage a barley crop compared to wheat and how it has a fit within their farming system. It was identified that growers lack knowledge of barley management and agronomic packages for the northern agricultural region as barley has different management requirements to wheat.

This project is aimed to test different barley types with different nitrogen management option in early and late sowing opportunities on ameliorated soils to enable Geraldton port zone growers to make informed decisions around barley choice and management.
