Australian Plant Phenomics Facility 2023-2028 - Phase 1
The Australian Plant Phenomics Facility (APPF) provides access to phenotyping equipment and expertise to the Australian plant research community. This investment supports the acquisition and implementation of a fleet of six mobile phenotyping units to be operated by APPF Host Organisations. Each unit is comprised of sensors and other equipment adapted to local requirements and mounted on ground-based platforms, handheld units, and drones. These phenotyping units will provide the Australian grains industry the capability to measure crop traits in field trials with greater precision, lower cost, and higher throughput than previously achievable. This will enable measurement of traits at the scale required to drive a step change in development of improved crop varieties by the pre-breeding and breeding industries.
