Dylan Hirsch: risk and reward early sown canola

Dylan Hirsch: risk and reward early sown canola

Published: 16 Jan 2024

For Dylan Hirsch, a grain grower from Latham in north-east WA, canola has become a large and integral part of his family farming enterprise.

Since 2021 they have increased the proportion of the farm planted to canola and have developed some clear rules of thumb that support objective decision-making for seeding canola.

This grower case study is one of three grower case studies on the risk and reward of early sown canola.
