This national investment provides new knowledge to growers and the wider grains industry on grain storage infrastructure, effective grain storage hygiene and pest control as well as adding value to grain through blending or segregation to target higher value grain markets by using grain storage best management practices.

The investment engages with industry across the supply chain to develop and improve efficiencies delivering return on investment to growers and increasing farm profits. D&E activities within each regions will be delivered by on-farm grain storage specialists with extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of storing grain, including but not limited to: experience in the understanding of design, structure and planning on-farm storage complexes to meet individual farming business requirements; the economics of storing grain on-farm including return on investment; harvester to storage handling management and logistics of all crops grown in Australia, pest management, logistics, grain quality and segregations as well as storing retained seed for planting.
