Mid North High Rainfall Zone 2021 Winter Walk - Farrell Flat and Giles Corner

Event Name
Mid North High Rainfall Zone 2021 Winter Walk - Farrell Flat and Giles Corner
Start Date
End Date
Duration
4 hours and 30 minutes
Description

A social event hosted at the MNHRZ trial sites, the winter walk allows members an opportunity to engage with researchers and see the trials being conducted.

MNHRZ now host trials in two locations Farrell Flat Frost Learning Centre off Sod Hut Road, Stanley near Farrell Flat and Giles Corner.

A large variety of trials have been planted at both sites and include variety comparisons for dual purpose cereals for grain yield, barley v wheat, cereals vs vetch vs clover vs ryegrass and Canola trial comparing herbicide systems.

The Frost Learning Centre at Farrell Flat is unique to South Australia and will provide valuable data for growers to provide options for sow times, variety choice and ultimately maximise their production in frost prone areas.

(Please Note: The Farrell Flat site is subject to the weather as access to the road and the site if inclement will become impassable and will therefore be cancelled.)

First part of the day will commence (weather permitting) at Farrell Flat from 12:30 pm and then onto Giles Corner from 3:00 pm.

Keep an eye on the website for updates and announcements.
