Duration
5 hours
Description

Barley disease outbreaks were widespread throughout the 2022 season in WA. This GRDC forum, coordinated by the Centre for Crop and Disease Management and the Stirlings to Coast Farmers, aims to provide valuable information on the latest advancements in barley disease management and explore future opportunities for growers and advisers in the area.

The Albany event will bring together experts from the CCDM, AGT, InterGrain, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, Bayer, Syngenta, ADAMA as well as leading agronomists and growers to share their insights and latest information from recent research.

Divided into three topic sessions, the forum will explore three main areas for advancement – barley breeding, disease management (including fungicide resistance) and fungicides available for management. Following these sessions, the forum will conclude with a facilitated workshop to explore where to next for barley growers dealing with disease outbreaks, and how industry members can come together to develop the solutions needed to improve disease management in the high rainfall zone.
