Northern Farming Systems - Integrating research solutions for improving profitability in summer dominated rainfall systems

Previous work has highlighted that there is a significant gap between potential and current cropping system efficiency and profitability in the grain growing regions of New South Wales and Queensland.This project will compare the key production parameters that have impacts on system productivity and farm profitability, including measuring intended and unintended consequences across a range of systems. The aim is to generate new knowledge on the profitability of various systems and demonstrate to growers and advisers what farming systems can be further optimised to assist them in creating greater profitability over the long term in summer dominant rainfall systems.
